green for generations
Get to know the
Arboretum at South Seattle College
For students, it's a classroom. For local residents, it's a park. For the city of Seattle, it is a welcome oasis of green in an increasingly densely populated city.
As beautiful as it is today, the odds of developing an arboretum on this site weren't good in 1978, when landscape students petitioned the College to create a hands-on, outdoor classroom.
